You know what, I've been watching a lot of movies lately, specifically animated ones. And I just can't help by notice all of the amazing styles! My brother was watching "Atlantis: the Lost Empire," which I had this unknown dislike for. We haven't watched it in years. I came in at the part where Milo is sitting apart from the group, making all sorts of notes as he translates the book, and I stopped. I couldn't believe how smooth everything was. His hair flung around his face as he moved, showing his eagerness for his mission. His whole design showed him as a timid young man who was not afraid to do the right thing. I couldn't believe that I had deprived myself of such talent for so many years!
That being said, I'm still trying to find my style. I can't draw nearly as well as

or

or

(all of whom are a few of my heroes and idols for art, and shame on anyone who hasn't at least checked out their work), and I'm still struggling with what seems like the simpler parts of drawing (like shading and detail), but I'm striving forward, and someday I'll be able to look back at my art and think, "Dang! I made some progress!" But that day'll have to wait. For now, I'm still learning. I really need to shake off this anime style that I keep clinging on to...so unoriginal.
